Wacky Women - Golf Game Rules of Play
September 2, 2010

Rules:                        Play your ball where it lies as it applies to the rules of golf. Of course use your own judgment so as to not damage your equipment or the course areas that are under repair.

There is always a 9-stroke overall limit per hole in Wacky Women play.

Greens:                     Regular greens

Putting:                      No putt limit

Mulligans:               1 mulligan – Fairway only.

Play:                             Best Drive night: At each hole, everyone drives their ball. Pick the best drive out of the group. Everyone takes their second shot from that point. After that, you play your own shots to the end of the hole.

If your ball lands on the fringe you get a free toss toward the hole. The toss does not count as a stroke.

Golf Rules &

Etiquette            Putting Lines

Golfers should note each player's putting line, and avoid stepping on it as they play on the green or stand on a line of sight, that is, in the line of sight either ahead or behind a player who is attempting to putt.

A second but related concern involves the hole itself. A golfer should avoid stepping within at least a one-foot radius of the hole.

Q. Larry was playing on a course in South Georgia that had previously been a farm. To add to the ambiance, or maybe because the removal would cost to much, an old barn was situated adjacent to the fairway. Larry who normally could not hit the broad side of a barn landed in a position with the barn between him and the green. Larry said, "No problem" and proceeded to open the doors of a barn to enable him to play a shot through the barn. Can he do that without penalty?

What, is the correct ruling?

A. One stroke penalty, replay the ball from original position.

B. Two stroke penalty, replay the ball from original position.

C. There is no penalty, Larry's action is permitted.

The correct answer: C. There is no penalty. The barn is an immovable obstruction but the doors were movable and may be opened. The same thing would apply to windows if they can be opened/moved.
